Hedge Fund Investment Analyst

An opportunity is available at an Asset Management company in their Cape Town based Hedge Fund Team for an Investment Analyst.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Responsibilities will include the following:

Investment research of a range of companies
Building broadly based financial models based on fair value assessment cross balance sheet
Selection and communication of inter and intra-sectoral out-performers and underperformers
Evaluating and proposing cross balance sheet arbitrage strategies
Any ad hoc requests/projects that need to be carried out
Developing independent research techniques
Writing short investment reports to support and document previous risk allocations
Giving regular presentations to team members on applicable theories and suggested courses of action.
Self starter who can use personal initiative and make recommendations based on independent research conducted
Keep abreast of current developments, market intelligence and investigate innovative ways of analysing companies
Measurement of value add
Staying abreast of new investment technologies

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

A relevant professional qualification
Proven track record
Broad based related experience in asset management and or financial services
International experience
Quantitative flair
Demonstrate a record of uncompromised values of integrity and quality with a passion to achieve excellenceKnowledge
Understanding of financial statements
Asset Liability dispersion models
Spreadsheets and model building capabilities at the advanced level
