Ethos Private Equity invests in Idwala Industrial Holdings, RMB exit

Ethos Private Equity has led a joint bid culminating in Ethos and Old Mutual Private Equity investing in Idwala Industrial Holdings Ltd. Tiso Group and Idwala management will remain invested in Idwala alongside Ethos and Old Mutual, while RMB Ventures is exiting their four year investment.


Peregrine management drops buyout plan, shares fall

South African wealth and asset management firm Peregrine Holdings Limited said on Friday a management buyout plan had been axed, hitting its shares.
“The board has today received written notice that the consortium has resolved to withdraw its expression of interest,” Peregrine said in a statement.

The African Alliance Africa Pioneer Master Fund invests in Ivorian crop protection

The African Alliance Africa Pioneer Master Fund, AAAPMF, has invested in support of the MBO of Syngenta’s crop protection business in Côte d’Ivoire. AAAPMF is an open-ended investment fund quoted on the Irish Stock Exchange managed by African Alliance, a South African-based investment banking group. It makes listed and unlisted investments in Africa outside of South Africa.


Aureos Capital raises new private equity fund

MAURITIUS-domiciled Aureos Capital, a private equity fund manager, says its new fund, which raised $253,5m last month, seeks to tap “superior risk-adjusted returns” in Africa.
